What is concept art?
Concept art is a creation of pictures or sketches that an artist has created in order to display to the producer or designers of the game what a specific person object or landscape should look like. Thids is used in many industries such as the games industry, films industry and even products industries such as cars so they can get a idea of how to create a model if a car / item and plan ahead before they begin the creation of the fully developed model.

This building is a very good example of concept art been used in order to create a building as they must have planned to created this building without it having any flaws such as collapsing whilst in the progress of building the design by looking at it with sketches. 
This picture displays a image of someone who was an artist for a film and created a idea of how a character within that film would look like. Doing this would give the designers of the film an idea of the film and how the charatcer would look within that film.
This picture shows the character and why it is important to make sure that the character/ item of a film or a game or the game is important to consider when immerging them into the enviroment and the design of the character supports the enviroment rather than takes away the mood of it.
This design shows how even a car is important to design first hand before developing the car as it would be very expensive to design a car to be fast and it would turn out its design of aerodynamics is slowing the car down.Why use concept art?

This is a good example of a design that did not work as it was not designed through a concept art or sketches to fit well as the hands of the person are alot bigger than the wrists of the person showing a unproportional object or character which could be unnapealing to the viewer who looks at the design that was created. Using concept art for this reason helps prevent errors that may occur when designing the characters to the game and it also gives games better detail than without the concept art as there would not be any characters or good landscapes without the idea of concept arts.Styles of concept art

This art is used in order to show great detail of a game that may be getting released soon or a way of expressing how the game is played by a simple image. This is a good example of a movie concept art as the detail of the spider man within the picture is much greater detail and more intimidating than the cartoon look from the previous picture.
Charcoal concept art
This art is widely used as a way to display shadowing and detail of darkness upon a picture. As the picture displays it shows the background getting much smaller as you look to it however the whole street and characters or objects displayed are all appearing from that specific point giving you an idea of a person looking through their eyes at a landscape from an angle.Wax pastel concept art

The picture itself is very detailed and appealing however the wax pastels allow the image to be more realistic or come to life with the detail of the clothes and the lighting being more realistic with the shades of different colours and the skin colour, landscape colour and the colour of the persons hair also. This art is more detailed in showing colours and shades than a charcoals art however charcoal art can be better for showing shadowings to a picture.
Felt tip concept art
This concept art is created using different colours and shades of those felt tips in order to show an enviroment, landscape or a weapon of any choice.
